question about landscaping please answer?
Question by nana: question about landscaping please answer?
I am trying to embellish my entrance way so I have two plant in the from and and about 6 small plants in the front. I want to remove the plants and transplant them to the side(in fact the landscaper suggested that) and add new shrubs in the front easy maintenance type of work. Well i called a few landscaper and many were not professional because they did not return phone call when they said they would. So I want some spring cleaning to be done, removing leaves that were left behind, cut grass weekly, and the adding and transplanting the plants. the guy said he would write a contract and send it to me. First he called me gave me a price of about 1600 and tax. Now i get the contract with so many hidden clauses. For example no specific price for spring cleaning except 35 dollars per hour then 40 plus tax for cutting grass(reasonable to me). Mulch is 260 for 4 yards, transplant existing plants to left side for $ 420 plus tax, installation of plants including labor for $ 965 plux tazx. The plants are 4 japanese Holly Upright, (4) 3 gallon green velvet, (4) 3 gallon white azalea. 30 belgium blocks then at the bottom it says additional items if needed labor charge of $ 35/hour/per laborer. What do you think of the contract. It sounds like an open contract that will set me up. I think that it is better to have a contract with direct pricing rather than all this questionable amounts. He wants 50% before the start of work. I just see problems. What do you think.

See now? Here’s the problem with “Please Answer.” It’s as if this is hurry, hurry, hurry, dire emergency, and it’s not. Add to that, what do you think we’re doing here? Many of us answer questions, if we can. I wouldn’t have come to this one, because my yard isn’t typical (concrete, so gardening is all containers.) But I read “Please answer,” and just got this feeling it was some kind of emergency.
So, while you’re here, do what most people do…and answer some question. That’s who answers – people who ask, and then stick around.
BUT, I can answer this from a common sense viewpoint. How about “If you don’t trust this guy get a second opinion.” I can’t say I have this experience from a landscaping dilemma in my life, but that advice came in handy with the roofer and doctors. Seems to work for most situations, especially when it’s not an emergency.

As we walked from the stage area to the fields where the tents were, we ran into rows of blooming azaleas defying the approaching autumn season. It was warm enough for them to be bloom and was a pleasant surprise of color!

Summer Bulbs: Simple Steps for Growing Beautiful Glads, Dahlias, Begonias, Cannas, and Other Tender Bulbs
Their names sound as exotic as the blossoms they produce – gloxinias, tigridias, sprekelias – and only begin to hint at the exciting world of color and fragrance that awaits those who venture beyond the local garden center’s bins of tulips and daffodils. And while their names may not exactly roll off the tongue, tender bulbs share one key advantage of their better-known relatives: simplicity. Everything required to produce strikingly beautiful blooms comes in a convenient package just waiting fo
